Understanding Internet Governance Through a Legal Perspective: Reflections from ICANN87 Bali
Over the past two days at ICANN87 Bali, I've had the opportunity to learn more about how global internet governance works, particularly from a legal and policy perspective. From ICANN's multistakeholder policy development process to registrar contractual compliance, domain name dispute resolution (UDRP), intellectual property protection, and DNS abuse, these discussions have provided valuable insights into the legal frameworks behind the domain name ecosystem. As part of the Accreditation & Domain Name Dispute Resolution team at PANDI, I found these discussions particularly relevant to my work and to the ongoing development of domain name policies in Indonesia.
